
Mahindra BE 6 & XEV 9e Gets Larger 79 kWh Batteries In Pack Two Trim, Deliveries To Begin By End Of July, 2025
Mahindra has introduced the larger 79 kWh batteries for the BE 6 and XEV 9e, the Pack Two trims. Consumer demand for larger batteries prompted this move. According to Mahindra, more than 75% of the bookings were made for the more expensive Pack 3 trim, which has the larger battery pack.
Notably, customers who booked the smaller 59 kWh battery can upgrade their capacity to 79 kWh as part of the Pack Two trim option. Mahindra plans to begin delivering the BE 6 and XEV 9e Pack Two variants by the end of July 2025.
Battery Range & Performance
With the 79 kWh battery, the Mahindra BE 6 boasts an ARAI claimed range of 682 Km, while it offers a 556 Km range with the 59 kWh battery. The Mahindra XEV 9e delivers a range of 656 Km with the 79 kWh battery and 542 Km using the 59 kWh battery.
In terms of charging, the 79 kWh battery can charge from 20% to 80% in just 20 minutes. Notably, the same time is taken for charging the smaller 59 kWh battery using a 140 kW fast DC charger. For the same charging time, the larger battery necessitates a 175 kW fast DC charger.
The 79 kWh battery generates 286 HP, while the 59 kWh battery produces 231 HP. Both motors generate 380 NM of torque. Both electric SUVs are tuned to send the power to the rear wheels.
Features
Mahindra equips the BE 6 and XEV 9e with features in the Pack Two, such as LED headlights and tail lights, fixed glass roof, dual-zone climate control, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, 16-speaker Harman Kardon speaker system, wireless charger, and rear AC vents.
Safety Features
The Pack Two trim features Level 2 ADAS, 6 airbags, a tyre pressure monitoring system, and cornering lamps. Additionally, it also includes driver drowsiness detection, brake-by-wire technology and other safety features.
The Mahindra BE 6 and XEV 9e utilise 19-inch wheels. However, the XEV 9e is the only one to get alloy rims. The BE 6 has to make do with aero-optimised wheel discs. On the inside, both electric SUVs get a 12.3-inch driver’s display and infotainment system.
Additionally, the XEV 9e features an extra 12.3-inch passenger display.
Pricing
The Mahindra BE 6 Pack Two costs Rs. 21.9 Lakh (ex-showroom) for the 59 kWh battery and Rs. 23.5 Lakh (ex-showroom) for the 79 kWh battery. The Mahindra XEV 9e is more expensive, costing Rs. 24.9 Lakh (ex-showroom) and Rs. 26.5 Lakh (ex-showroom) for the 59 kWh and 79 kWh battery options, respectively.
