Mahindra has launched a new automatic gearbox variant of its popular compact SUV, the XUV300 at Rs. 9.99 lakhs (ex-showroom). Touted as the W6 AMT, the new entry-level diesel-automatic is Rs. 1.50 lakh cheaper than the W8 AMT. However, it does cost Rs. 50,000/- more than its manual alternative.

The Mahindra XUV300 W6 AMT gets the same engine-gearbox combination as the W8 and W8(O) i.e a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder turbo-diesel engine that produces 117 PS and 300 Nm of peak torque mated to a 6-speed AMT. It gets additional safety kit over its manual counterpart such as Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) and hill-start assist. The new variant also features dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, seatbelt reminders for the driver and front passenger, a speed alert system and rear parking sensors.

Features like a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 4 speakers, roof rails, a rear spoiler, steering-mounted controls, remote central locking and follow-me-home headlamps are offered as standard.

The Mahindra XUV300 rivals the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Renault Duster, Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue and Nissan Kicks in India.
