Mahindra XUV300 Update
The alloy wheels gets a new sharp design

The update for Mahindra XUV300 comes in the form of new alloy wheels for the top-end models

Mahindra XUV300 has got its first update since launch in the form of new alloy wheels. In fact, we can also say it’s more of downgrade for better comfort. The new alloy wheels are now smaller in size than the previous ones.

Earlier the 5-star rated SUV got a flower-like designed R17 alloy wheels for the top-end W8 and W8 (O). They were installed with low profile 215/55 R17 tires. While the W8 got the regular single tone finish, the W8 (O) got the diamond-cut dual-tone units.

This pattern has been replaced with a L-shaped paired spoke design. As usual, the W8 gets the single tone finish while the W8 (O) features a diamond-cut dual-tone finish pictured above. The wheels are fixed with smaller but higher profile 205/65 R16 tires.

The higher profile does improve comfort and ride quality over bad roads. Mahindra would have gone ahead with the change based on inputs from existing customers. The reduction is wheel size has also been done to the lower variants with steel wheels.

The features on offer include 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Bluesense Plus connected car tech with smart watch connectivity, voice commands, and SMS readouts, tyre-position sensor, and front/rear parking sensors.

Other features include rear camera with adaptive guidelines, rain-sensing wipers, keyless entry, push button start/stop, projector headlamps, micro hybrid technology, light-sensing headlamps, in-built GPS navigation, electrically-foldable ORVMs, dual-zone climate control, auto-dimming IRVM, sunroof with anti-pinch, and cruise control.

Mahindra XUV300 AMT Review
The previous model had R17 wheels

As far as safety goes, the XUV300 is currently the safest car in the country. It gets all-wheel disc brakes, ABS with EBD, passenger airbag deactivation, panic braking signal, ISOFIX child anchors, hill start assist, impact-sensing door unlock, and ESP with roll-over mitigation.

In addition to these updates, Mahindra is also readying a performance-oriented variant and an EV on the same platform. The performance variant could be named XUV300 Sportz and will be powered by the same 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine but in a higher state of tune.

The EV, on the other hand, might be longer than the outgoing model with better space and segment-first ADAS features. It will take the fight head-on with the Tata Nexon EV, MG ZS EV and the slew of EVs launching next year.
