Mahindra XUV400 Range
The electric compact SUV gets 8 new features

Mahindra XUV400 gets more features ahead of the festive season

Mahindra updates the XUV400 electric compact SUV with more features in the latest update. The EV now comes with a price tag of Rs. 19.19 lakhs (ex-showroom) for the range topping trim.

The latest version of the XUV400 now boasts several key enhancements, including Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Hill Hold Assist, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System, auto-dimming IRVM, cruise control, fog lamps, updated audio system with tweeters and boot lamp.

The addition of these features makes the XUV400 more desirable. This might be a strategic move to boost sales and introduce the car before the festive season. Mahindra introduced a half-baked product initially with limited features on offer.

Gradually adding new features to the car might offend the owners who got the initial batches with lesser features. Mahindra will update the XUV400 again by 2025. The company is developing a significant update for the XUV300 that will get comprehensive design tweaks following the new design direction and a lot of new features on offer including a panoramic sunroof.

The same update will be given to the XUV400 soon after the XUV300 gets this substantial facelift by next year. The new model is expected to be more expensive and come with some mechanical changes as well. The prototypes have been spotted multiple times of late.

Coming back to the latest updated with new features. There are no other changes apart from the new equipment. It is powered by the same 148 BHP and 310 Nm electric powertrain. Mahindra offers two battery options – 34.5 kWh with a claimed range of 375 km (MIDC) and a 39.4 kWh battery offering a claimed range of 456 km (MIDC).

The Mahindra XUV400 competes directly agains the Tata Nexon EV. Tata Motors is also developing a heavily updated version of the Nexon with new styling, interior and more features.
