The country’s largest carmaker, Maruti Suzuki’s strategy of introducing the Alto K10 has worked fantastically for them. The company has managed to achieve sales of 20,000 units in just 40 days making a record for the fastest selling car (after launch) in the country. Factor in the F8 figures and the Alto manages close to 30,000 units every month. Industry insiders estimate the Alto to reach sales of 40,000 units per month, which is certainly possible if Maruti Suzuki is able to get around the capacity constraints it currently faces owing to huge demand of the Alto, Ritz and Swift.
