Will sport squared-out proportions to make the compact car look beefy

Maruti Suzuki’s new small car named S-Presso will be revealed on 30th September 2019. The brand’s upcoming offering will get a BS6-compliant version of Maruti’s K10 motor along with manual and AMT transmission options. The S-Presso will get a total of 4 variants with higher-spec variants offering an AMT option.

The Maruti S-Presso is based on the Future S concept revealed at the Auto Expo 2018. Hence it follows an SUV-like design rivalling the Renault Kwid. Production-spec version of the Future S will feature a bulky front and rear bumpers. 15-inch alloy wheels, large LED headlamps, full-body plastic cladding and LED tail lights are expected to be part of the package. The car will sport squared-out proportions to make the compact car look beefy. Inside, it will debut a central-mounted digital speedometer for the automobile manufacturer.

Maruti will provide all safety equipment including front airbags, ABS and EBD, rear parking sensors, speed warning and seatbelt reminder with the S-Presso.

The Maruti S-Presso will be powered by a 1.0-litre engine producing 68 PS and 90 Nm of torque with an ARAI-rated mileage of 24.07 km/l. The company will continue offering the Alto K10 along the S-Presso. It is plausible that Maruti will price the vehicle aggressively keeping the starting price close to Rs Rs. 3.5 lakhs (ex-showroom).
