Maruti Suzuki Dzire surpasses three million cumulative sales milestone in India
Maruti Suzuki has announced that the Maruti Suzuki Dzire has surpassed 3 million cumulative sales in the Indian market. Since its launch in 2008, the compact sedan has remained one of the brand’s most popular models and continues to be a strong performer in the highly competitive sub-4-metre sedan segment.
The Dzire has consistently recorded strong demand across the country and achieved a notable milestone in calendar year 2025, when it emerged as the highest-selling passenger car in India with sales exceeding 2.14 lakh units. The model has also gained recognition for its fuel efficiency, with both petrol and CNG variants delivering class-leading mileage according to ARAI certification.
Currently, the Dzire is sold in its fourth-generation version, which features updated styling, enhanced safety features and an expanded equipment list compared to earlier iterations. The sedan is available in four variants – LXi, VXi, ZXi and ZXi+ – allowing buyers to choose between multiple equipment levels depending on their preferences.
Under the hood, the Dzire is offered with petrol and CNG powertrain options, designed to deliver a balance of performance and efficiency for daily driving. The model is priced from Rs. 6.25 lakhs (ex-showroom), positioning it as one of the more accessible compact sedans in the market.
With its combination of competitive pricing, fuel efficiency and widespread service network, the Dzire has managed to maintain strong demand over the years. Crossing the three-million-unit sales mark highlights the model’s sustained popularity among Indian car buyers and its significance in Maruti Suzuki’s overall product lineup.
