We have been updating you about the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga since a long time. Recently we spotted the Ertiga doing a TVC shoot and finally we have confirmed news that deliveries to dealers has started. From last week of Maruti finally started rolling out Ertigas to dealers pan India and the company has dispatched 1117 units in March 2012. As diesel variants are also on the cards (first diesel MUV for Maruti Suzuki), company was waiting for budget to arrive. As a sigh of relief, budget came with no extra duties being levied on diesel cars and as soon as the budget came out Maruti Suzuki started the process of launching Ertiga with no further delay.

Maruti Suzuki will offer the Ertiga in 6 variants – LXi, LDi, VXi, VDi, ZXi and ZDi. Pricing is expected to start at Rs. 6.5 lakhs with the top of the line ZDi variant being priced around Rs. 9.5 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). To be available in both petrol and diesel variants, the Ertiga will be mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. Maruti Suzuki will be launching the Ertiga on the 12th of April and the company is calling it a LUV (Lifestyle Utility Vehicle). Now Ertiga seems ready to make Maruti Suzuki enter in an all new domain of utility vehicles, with little doubt that the Ertiga will command a high waiting period.
