There are a lot of reasons why the average Indian prefers a Maruti Suzuki over other brands of cars and one of them is the carmaker’s across the nation availability of sales and service. Maruti Suzuki currently has 2000 dealerships in 1667 cities along with 3200 workshops spread across the country.

Factor in the premium NEXA channel, the dealership count increases by another 250. In the coming three years, Maruti Suzuki will open another 1000 dealerships and 1800 (taking the count to 5000) service centres which is like more than the current combined sales and service network of Nissan, Renault, Skoda, Volkswagen, Isuzu and Fiat! This very reach that Maruti Suzuki has, has been its biggest strength and made it the country’s largest car manufacturer.

‘By increasing the number of service centres to 5000, we aim to sustain our pole position in India’, Suzuki said in a shareholders’ meeting held at its headquarters in Japan. Of the 5000 workshops or service centres, 3000 service stations will be operating under the dealerships.

India is the most important market for Suzuki as it contributes to over 50 percent of its global sales and with the launch of blockbuster models like the Baleno, Vitara Brezza and the new Dzire, Maruti Suzuki’s share in the Indian market now stands at 51.8 percent.
