The all-electric Wagon R is expected to have a range that is more than the existing Indian EVs.

Wagon R EV will feature an AC charging port up front and a DC port at the rear

Maruti is currently testing the Wagon R EV in India and it is expected that the vehicle will have a range of 130 kms in a real-world scenario. This range will be approximate and will be according to the Indian driving conditions. If you plan to drive at a constant speed, the range is expected to come down to a 100 kms, as is the trend of all EVs.

The Maruti Wagon R EV will support standard AC charging as well as DC fast charging, with a charge time of 7 hours for AC charging and 1 hour up to 80% for DC fast charging. Maruti will have an edge of driving range in terms of kilometres as current EVs like the Mahindra e2O Plus have a lower range.

The Maruti Wagon R EV will come under the government’s EV-promoting FAME 2 scheme and is also expected to benefit from state subsidies. The car is likely to be similar to its fossil fuel powered version and will cost around Rs. 7-7.5 lakhs after subsidies.
