Mercedes-AMG CLE 53 To Debut In India On August 12, 2025, Features AMG-Specific Highlights

Mercedes-Benz is all set to launch the Mercedes-AMG CLE 53 Coupe in India on August 12, 2025. The CLE 53 debuted globally in December 2024, replacing both the C-Class and E-Class coupes. This move streamlines Mercedes’ lineup into a single, performance-focused luxury coupe segment.

Styling

The CLE 53 features a bold AMG design, highlighted by the signature Panamericana grille and aggressive bumper styling. It rides on 19-inch AMG alloy wheels and includes quad exhaust pipes and vented front fenders. These elements enhance aesthetics and also improve cooling and aerodynamics.

Interior

Inside, the cabin has a C-Class-inspired design with a large portrait touchscreen and round turbine-style air vents. It also includes a 12.3-inch digital driver display behind the steering wheel, offering AMG-specific animations. Sporty front seats and an AMG steering wheel give the interior a focused, performance-driven appeal.

Engine

Powering the CLE 53 is a 3.0-litre inline-six twin-turbocharged engine with a 48V mild-hybrid system. This setup delivers 443 HP and 560 NM of torque, with an additional 40 NM from the overboost function. All four wheels receive power via a 9-speed automatic and 4MATIC+ all-wheel-drive system.

Performance

The coupe accelerates from 0-100 Km/hr in a claimed 4.2 seconds with a top speed of 250 Km/hr. Braking is handled by 370mm front discs with four-piston callipers and 360mm rear discs with single-piston callipers. Together, these systems ensure sharp performance and confident control under spirited driving conditions.

Market Competition

The Mercedes-AMG CLE 53 will be more expensive than the outgoing C-Class Coupe. The CLE 53 targets serious driving enthusiasts. It will directly rival the BMW M2 and Audi RS5 in India’s growing performance luxury segment.
