The MG Hector is the largest mid-size SUV in the Indian market currently and boasts a length of 4655 mm and wheelbase of 2750 mm. Currently, the Hector is in a 5-seater configuration but soon the MG Hector will come in a 7-seater variant in India by early 2020.

MG officials have confirmed the company’s plans to introduce a three-row configuration of the Hector closer to the BS6 emission norms April 1, 2020 deadline. The car will get an additional third-row seating to accommodate more passengers but cannot be called a 7 or 8-seater SUV due to its dimensions.

The Baojun 530 SUV has a 7-seater version on sale in China, and it is the base for the MG Hector. The additional row can be fitted on the MG Hector without any major changes to the car as the dimensions for both the 5-seater and 7-seater are identical.

The MG Hector is about to launch next month and is a feature loaded SUV. It comes with a panoramic sunroof, 6 airbags, 17-inch alloy wheels and a massive 10.4-inch vertically placed infotainment system with innumerable connectivity features. There will be no additional engine options for the 7-seater variant, it will be offered with the same engine options as on the 5-seater variant.
