2021 MG Hector CVT
The CVT is offered only on variants of the non-hybrid turbo petrol engine

MG today launched the 2021 Hector CVT with a starting price tag of Rs. 16.52 lakhs for the Hector 5-seater and Rs. 17.22 lakhs for the Hector Plus 6-seater (both prices ex-showroom).

Paired with the non-hybrid 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine, the CVT has 8 speeds and also comes with “Eco” and “Sports” modes.

The turbo petrol motor that is good for 143 PS peak power and 250 Nm of maximum torque, can also be had with a DCT, as well as a 6-speed manual.

Notably, the new transmission option is offered only on the “Smart” and “Sharp” variants, the reason why the 2021 MG Hector CVT price is higher. It is not known why MG is not offering the CVT on the Hector Plus 7-seater, though.

Apart from offering the SUV with an additional transmission option, the Hector or the Hector Plus look the same on the outside and inside.

That is because, it was only recently that the car received a facelift. It got a new “Thermopressed” chrome radiator grille, dark tailgate applique and new 2 tone 18-inch alloy wheels.

Inside, the 2021 Hector comes with dual tone Champagne and Black upholstery, ventilated front seats, wireless charging, auto-dimming interior rear-view mirror and Hinglish voice commands.

Further, the Hector CVT, like other variants, will be backed by “MG Shield” ownership package that offers customers 5-year and unlimited kilometre warranty, 5 labour charge-free services and 5 years and roadside assistance.
