The much awaited SUV from MG Motors showcased to dealers ahead of its launch in May.
Only 50 dealers and 120 touchpoints have been appointed by the British automaker that will sell the Hector SUV upon launch. The company has also commenced the production of the SUV ahead of the scheduled date, 20th April 2019. They expect to launch the first model by next month.
The images show the aggressive stance of the Hector, that is complemented by the front fascia. It includes a chrome hexagonal front grille flanked by split headlamps. The DRLs are placed above the main beams, with the MG logo situated in the centre of the grille.
When approached from the side, the beefed-up roof rails, square wheel arches and sharp doors give it a buffed up look. Also, the blacked out pillars, give the roof a floating appearance. At the rear, the company logo sits in the middle of the boot, making its presence known. The LED tail lights give off a sporty and sharp look to the overall rear profile of the car.
The MG Hector will come with two engines, a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol unit and a 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel unit. The petrol engine will develop 143 BHP and 250 Nm of torque. It will be mated to a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. An option for a 48-volt mild-hybrid system that is 12 percent more fuel efficient and produces 20 Nm of additional torque is also expected to be on offer. The 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine is expected to produce 173 BHP and 350 Nm of torque. With a 6-speed manual transmission on offer, automatic transmission option for this engine is not yet confirmed.
The dashboard of the car features a massive 10.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Features like an embedded e-SIM card supporting IPV6, eCall Emergency Response system, AI-powered Voice Assist, TomTom IQ maps, Gaana premium account, AccuWeather app, geo-fencing, Microsoft Intelligent Security, etc. are also on offer.
