After the successful launch of its first product in India, the Hector, MG is gearing up to offer a bigger SUV, the Maxus D90 here. The vehicle has been spotted on test and will sit above the 7-seat Hector in MG’s India line-up. It is expected to be launched in our country sometime by the end of 2020. Once introduced, the Maxus D90 will rival the Ford Endeavour, the Toyota Fortuner and the Mahindra Alturas G4 in India.

The Maxus D90 measures 5005 mm in length, 1932 mm in width, 1875 mm in height, and has a 2950 mm-long wheelbase. It will offer 3 rows of seating with a feature-rich interior consisting of a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, an 8.0-inch digital instrument cluster, 3-zone climate control, cooled/heated seats, a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera, etc.

In the international markets, the Markus D90 is powered by a 2.0-litre petrol engine that churns 224 PS and 360 Nm of torque which is likely to be offered in India as well. MG is also expected to offer the D90 in India with a 2.0-litre diesel engine, the same unit present in the Hector. The SUV is offered with both, a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox abroad. The India-spec model is likely to get a 4-wheel drive option with a low-range transfer case and 7 driving modes (Automatic, Economy, Motion, Snow, Sandy, Mud and Rock).

MG is expected to tag the Maxus D90 SUV around Rs. 30 lakhs (ex-showroom).
