MG Motor has increased prices for the Gloster by up to Rs. 1.51 lakh
JSW MG Motor India has revised the pricing for two of its key models—the Gloster SUV and the Comet EV—resulting in an increase of up to Rs. 1.51 lakh, depending on the variant.
Gloster Gets a Significant Price Hike
The Gloster, MG’s full-size flagship SUV, now starts at Rs. 41.07 lakhs (ex-showroom). The price adjustment across the range goes up to Rs. 1.51 lakh, making it one of the more substantial revisions in recent months. The Gloster continues to be powered by a 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine that delivers 215 BHP and 480 Nm of torque, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission.
This price update comes ahead of the anticipated launch of the MG Majestor, which will sit at the top of the Gloster range and is expected to bring further enhancements and premium features.
Comet EV Prices Also Revised
The Comet EV, MG’s entry-level electric offering, has also seen a price revision. The micro-EV now starts at Rs. 7.36 lakhs (ex-showroom), marking a maximum increase of Rs. 35,700. The Excite variant sees a hike of Rs. 16,000, while the Excite FC trim is dearer by Rs. 4000. All other trims receive a uniform increment of Rs. 5300.
While MG has not specified the reason behind the hike, such revisions are typically linked to rising input costs, updates in production, or adjustments ahead of new product launches.
Ahead of New Launches
The price revision comes at a time when MG Motor is preparing to expand its portfolio, with the upcoming launch of the Majestor SUV variant expected to enhance the brand’s presence in the premium segment.
These updates reflect MG’s evolving pricing strategy in a dynamic market, where consumer demand, regulatory shifts, and production costs continue to shape vehicle affordability.
