MINI has unveiled the new Cooper Oxford Edition, a special edition model created to commemorate 25 years of modern MINI production at the Oxford plant in the United Kingdom. The limited-run edition pays tribute to the brand’s British heritage through a series of unique exterior and interior design elements inspired by the Union Jack.
The Oxford facility has played a key role in MINI’s history. While the original Mini entered production there in 1959, the BMW Group has been manufacturing the modern MINI at the same plant since 2001. The new Oxford Edition celebrates this milestone by incorporating several edition-exclusive styling touches while retaining the core characteristics of the latest MINI Cooper 3-door.
One of the most distinctive elements of the special edition is its white contrast roof featuring a contemporary interpretation of the Union Jack. The design extends across the roof with a red and white centre stripe running the length of the vehicle, giving the edition a unique visual identity.
The MINI Cooper Oxford Edition is offered in Chili Red, Indigo Sunset Blue and Blazing Blue exterior paint finishes, complemented by white mirror caps. It also comes equipped with 18-inch Slide Spoke dual-tone alloy wheels featuring edition-specific wheel hub and valve cap detailing.
Inside, MINI has continued the British theme with exclusive design details. The steering wheel features a textured Union Jack motif at the six o’clock position, while the driver’s floor mat carries a circular Union Jack graphic. The passenger-side floor mat incorporates a chequered flag design inspired by MINI’s motorsport heritage, and unique door sill plates further distinguish the special edition.
The Oxford Edition will be available in both MINI Cooper C and MINI Cooper S variants. Apart from the exclusive cosmetic updates, MINI has not announced any mechanical changes over the standard models.
Alongside the vehicle, MINI has also introduced an Oxford Capsule lifestyle collection. The range includes accessories such as a travel bag, T-shirts, cap, stickers and an umbrella, all incorporating design cues inspired by the Oxford Edition and its Union Jack theme.
MINI has clarified that this Oxford Edition is an entirely new global special edition and is unrelated to the long-running Oxford Edition offered in the United States, despite sharing the same name.
