Mitsubishi India is planning to launch the RVR urban crossover in the second half of 2011. The RVR shares the same platform as the larger Outlander and has the same wheelbase but is a segment smaller. The RVR follows Mitsubishi’s current design language, the unmistakable ‘shark nosed’ front end and wedge-shaped lights as seen first on the Evo X and also its elder sibling, the Outlander. With a length of 4.3 metres, the compact cross over will be powered by a 147bhp 1.8-litre turbocharged direct-injection diesel engine.

The five seater compact SUV will feature front wheel drive and six speed manual transmission. Features include electronic stop-start technology, ABS, airbags, audio system with 6 speakers. The RVR is expected to cost around Rs. 15 lakh when it goes on sale. Till that time, the Yeti will enjoy cult status.
