Moto Morini X-Cape 700 Unveiled, Gets a Euro5+ Compliant Engine With More Power & Torque
Moto Morini has unveiled the X-Cape 700. It is the successor to the X-Cape 650 and X-Cape 650x. The new adventure touring bike is Euro5+ compliant and gets a power and torque boost. The bike’s predecessors, X-Cape 650 and X-Cape 650X, were launched in India back in 2022.
Engine
The most notable change made to the X-Cape 700 is the engine capacity increase. It is powered by a 693cc liquid-cooled parallel twin engine that produces 70 HP and 68 Nm of torque. It has a top speed of 170 Km/hr. The DOHC twin-cylinder 8-valve engine has a compression ratio of 11:6:1 and the bore and stroke dimensions of 83mm and 60mm, respectively.
Suspension, Braking & Wheels
The front suspension consists of 50mm Marzocchi upside-down forks, which have a travel of 175mm. The rear suspension is a Kayaba monoshock setup, offering a travel of 165mm. Both sides offer adjustable spring preload and damping for a customizable ride, with front compression and rebound adjustments and rebound settings at the rear.
The front braking duties are handled by 298mm double discs and a 2-piston floating caliper. The rear has a 255mm single disc setup with 2 pistons. Additionally, the Bosch ABS offers the functionality to be switched off.
The new X-Cape 700 will also be sold in two variants, i.e. alloy wheels and spoke wheels. However, both variations get 19-inch rims at the front and 17-inch rims at the rear. They will be wrapped in Pirelli Rally STR tyres in the spoke rims variant.
The new X-Cape 700 offers an 18-litre fuel tank and a seat height of either 820mm or 840mm. It has a dry weight of 213 Kg, and 190mm ground clearance should make it a competent adventure tourer. In terms of features, the 7-inch TFT display has visual enhancements such as smaller bezels that make it appear larger and it also gets a windscreen.
However, it is important to note that the brand’s X-Cape 650 or X-Cape 650X hasn’t been able to perform well, and hence, there were price cuts offered by the brand. It remains to be seen whether the Chinese brand launches the new X-Cape 700 in India and is able to establish itself.
