MPVs in India are mostly popular amongst the fleet segment but the newer and relatively compact ones are more private buyer friendly. The Renault Lodgy and Datsun GO+ were amongst those launched in 2015 that were targeted at private buyers and hence didn’t actually perform up to the mark in terms of sales. The only MPV that is able to hold a candle against the Toyota Innova is the Maruti Ertiga, which got a comprehensive facelift this year and is doing good numbers in the market.
