Internationally, the Outlander draws power from a 2.4-litre and 3.0-litre petrol engines

Mitsubishi has finally decided to bring in the Outlander SUV to India again. The Japanese automaker has listed the new Outlander on its Indian website with the caption ‘Coming Soon’ which means that the vehicle will soon be hitting our shores.

It’s been over 4 years now since Mitsubishi discontinued the Outlander in India. However, with the new model, the automaker will take on the recently launched Jeep Compass, Hyundai Tucson and Honda CR-V. Mitsubishi unveiled the Outlander facelift at the 2015 New York International Auto Show, and this is the same Outlander that is making its way to India.

The new Outlander gets Mitsubishi’s signature ‘Dynamic Shield’ front-end design. The chrome strip running from the edges of the headlights to the fog lamps and the twin-slat chrome grille highlight the front fascia. Mitsubishi hasn’t revealed the engine details but has listed out a number of features that the Outlander will get.

There is a CVT automatic transmission on offer that features a sports mode and paddle-shifters, a 4WD system, LED headlamps (automatic) and fog lamps, electric sunroof, rain-sensing wipers, Hill Start Assist, ABS with EBD, leather interiors, 6.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Rockford Fosgate sound system, dual-zone automatic climate control, electric parking brake with auto hold function and a push-button start system.

Earlier, the Outlander used to come with only a petrol engine but this time around we hope the Japanese automaker offers a diesel engine too.
