Norton Atlas range to be locally built and launched in India mid-2026

The Norton Atlas lineup is expected to arrive in the Indian market by mid-2026, marking an important step in TVS Motor Company’s revival of the British motorcycle brand. The range was recently showcased at the EICMA motorcycle show in Milan alongside models like the Manx and Manx R. These bikes are also likely to appear at TVS MotoSoul 2025, scheduled for December.

The Atlas models are slated to go on sale in Europe first, with an April debut planned, before reaching India a few months later. Production for the Indian market will take place at TVS’ Hosur facility, which should allow the company to price the motorcycles competitively. Early estimates suggest an entry price of around ₹5 lakh (ex-showroom).

Engine and Platform

Powering the Norton Atlas is a new 585cc parallel-twin engine featuring a 270-degree crank and paired with a six-speed gearbox. The unit is understood to share architecture with the 420cc twin developed under the TVS–BMW alliance, though with increased displacement through revised bore and stroke dimensions.

Variants and Hardware

The Atlas range will be offered in two versions:

  • Standard: Oriented toward mixed-surface riding, equipped with a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel setup and tubeless spoke wheels.
  • Atlas GT: The touring-focused variant, featuring 17-inch alloy wheels at both ends.

Equipment and Features

Both variants are expected to come with a comprehensive equipment list, including:

  • TFT instrumentation with Bluetooth
  • Multiple riding modes
  • Cornering ABS
  • Traction control
  • Cruise control
  • LED projector headlamps with cornering lighting

Expected Rivals

Once launched, the Norton Atlas range will compete with motorcycles in a similar displacement and price bracket, such as the Kawasaki Versys 650, Triumph Tiger Sport 660 and potentially the BMW F 450 GS, depending on final pricing.

With local production and an expanding product portfolio, TVS aims to position Norton as a strong contender in India’s middleweight adventure-touring and road-biased ADV segments.
