Maruti Ertiga records the highest growth at 419% in October 2019.

Top Selling UVs October 2019

The utility vehicle segment has witnessed an impressive overall growth of 27% in October 2019 led by the sales of new entrants in the segment (The Triber, XL6 & the Refreshed Ertiga). The figures reflect an improving state of the automobile industry this month. In the first position, we have the Maruti Eeco with a YoY (Year on year) growth of 49%.

The Maruti Ertiga has recorded the highest and a splendid YoY figure of 419% by selling 7196 units in October 2019. It’s premium sibling, the XL6 is also creating wonders for Maruti Suzuki. The Ertiga and the XL6 together sold 11,525 units. The combined performance shall make the duo the 8th best selling car of October 2019!

Two positions up from last month, we have the Mahindra Bolero in the third position after selling 5884 units in October 2019. However, it records a negative YoY figure of 19%.

At the fourth position is the Triber. The economic MPV is proving to be a lifesaver for Renault and is slowing gathering acceptance due to the tremendous value it is offering at the price point. The Mahindra Marazzo’s sales volumes are dipping every month. Post the launch of the new Ertiga, Marazzo is finding it difficult to match the initial volumes it had gathered during the launch phase. Seems like Ertiga+XL6’s success sheen is wiping out the shark-inspired MUV’s volumes. Even the Innova’s numbers are dipping.

The last 3 positions are taken up by the Mahindra Xylo, Renault Lodgy and the Tata Sumo after selling 87, 48 and 0 units in October 2019.

Nevertheless, it will be interesting to see how Kia’s next launch, the Carnival MPV will fare in this segment.
