Like the compact SUV segment, UV sales improved in October 2021

The Maruti Ertiga and XL6 are finding more takers with each passing month

UV sales in October 2021 shot up by 27 percent year-on-year (YoY) while cars from several other segments found it tough to lure buyers.

In all, the 9 utility vehicles mentioned in the list registered combined sales of 43,563 units, as opposed to 34,411 units during the same period a year before.

The biggest contributor to the figure was the Maruti Ertiga that found close to 13,000 new homes in October. The Eeco, also from Maruti, was driven home by 10,320 new buyers in the period.

Third-placed Mahindra Bolero registered sales of 6375 units, while the Toyota Innova Crysta which came next had close to 6100 unit sales.

Fifth place in the October 2021 UV sales chart was occupied by the Maruti XL6 with 4602 unit sales, whereas the Renault Triber came a distant sixth with 2758 units.

In the last 3 spots sit the Kia Carnival (400 units), Toyota Vellfire (77 units) and the Mahindra Marazzo which could only find 12 new homes this past month.

As far as YoY sales growth is concerned, the Toyota Vellfire (166 percent), Maruti XL6 (89 percent), Maruti Ertiga (67 percent) and Toyota Innova Crysta (36 percent) were the only ones to see their sales increase.
