Ola S1X Teaser
The scooter has been teased, looks different

Ola Electric is all set to unveil a new addition to its lineup – the Ola S1X electric scooter. The new scooter is scheduled to launch on 15th August, Independence Day. The S1X is expected to come with a price tag below Rs. 1 lakh (ex-showroom).

The Ola S1X is designed to be an entry level scooter in Ola Electric’s range, offering a more affordable option compared to their previous models and the recently launched S1 Air. It’s based on a new generation platform that will also serve as the foundation for future electric scooters from the company.

Although the platform might differ, some key components like wheels and suspension could be shared with its sibling, the S1 Air. This strategy not only helps Ola Electric save on development costs but also ensures a level of consistency across their product offerings.

The S1X is expected to feature telescopic forks at the front and twin gas-charged shock absorbers at the rear. Braking duties will be managed by drum brakes both at the front and rear, possibly incorporating a Combi-braking system. The S1X will come with steel wheels instead of alloys.

The new scooter is expected to have a similar styling compared to its more expensive siblings. The teaser image reveals a different face compared to the other models in the S1 range. The headlamp will likely include LED DRLs and a projector setup, while the rear tail lamp design might remain unchanged.

You can expect an all-digital screen with slightly lower resolution compared to the S1 Pro. It will display basic scooter information. There’s no confirmation yet on features like navigation, Bluetooth connectivity and internet access.

With the new addition of this entry level variant, Ola is targeting a wider audience with a more affordable price. The company expects to gather a lot of bookings for the more affordable scooter ahead of the festive season.
