Amazon’s price comparison portal Junglee.com is now all set to add pre-owned cars and two-wheelers to its product range. The online portal which currently sells a range of accessories including protective gear, car parts, wheels, car entertainment accessories among others will be offering customers a choice of 25,000 vehicles to choose from across 160 cities in the country. In order to make the pre-owned vehicles more trustworthy, Junglee is partnering with Mahindra to help certify after-market cars and two-wheelers.

A certification certainly helps in selling a vehicle faster; however, the same is not mandatory. Sellers will have the option to list their vehicles without any certification. Like current listing portals including Olx, Gaadi.com, Quikr and the likes, Junglee’s site will also carry images along with all the relevant information that is needed at the time of purchase. Initially, the portal will allow customers to buy used vehicles from within their city due to the hassles of registering a vehicle in another state.

A price comparison portal, Junglee offers customers a price comparison charged by most e-tailers including e-commerce sites like Myntra, Jabong, Quikr among others. For used vehicles though, consumers will not be able to compare prices with standalone used vehicle showrooms since they refused to partner with the portal. Junglee believes that the used car market has a lot of price imbalance leaving a huge opportunity to retail used quality cars.

With the online space growing rapidly, more and more manufacturers are moving to the virtual world with its range of products. While Mahindra 2-Wheelers already sells its scooters on Snapdeal, the automaker also started retailing the new Scorpio online. Most recently Hero MotoCorp sold 700 bikes online during the GOSF 3 day sale. The pre-owned car business has grown at a rate of 15 percent in the past three years. A recent study also suggested that the used car market is equivalent to the new car market in the country.
