Renault Kiger Bookings
It is a good-looking car, especially when looked at from the front

Bookings for the Renault Kiger are being accepted by the carmaker’s dealers unofficially as the compact SUV has begun arriving at dealerships.

The token amount currently ranges between Rs. 10,000/- and Rs. 20,000/- and Renault is soon expected to make an official announcement about bookings for the car.

Renault had only recently unveiled the compact SUV and already, a video of the car sitting at a dealers’ parking lot has surfaced online. Painted in a shade of silver, the car in question is the top RXZ variant with the 5-speed manual gearbox.

Sporting the 3-pod LED headlights, DRLs, a chrome-embellished grille and a huge maker’s emblem, the Kiger, when looked head-on, has the familiar styling cues already seen on the Kwid.

Along the sides of the car, the 16-inch alloy wheels, plastic cladding on the wheel arches and roof rails can be seen, while at the back, the unique spoiler, C-shaped LED tail lights and heavily creased boot lid are present.

The compact SUV comes with a rear-view camera which is situated within the logo on the boot lid, while below, a chunky faux skid plate is present.

Inside, the spotted Kiger, being the top variant, has an 8-inch touchscreen, 7-inch digital instrument cluster, along with plentiful features like wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, auto air-con, among others and lots of storage space.

To be available with a couple of 1.0-litre engine options, 1 being naturally aspirated (72 PS and 96 Nm) and the other turbocharged (100 PS and 160 Nm) the Kiger can be had with a 5-speed manual, 5-speed AMT or a CVT gearbox.

It also comes with drive modes, 4 airbags, 6 colour options (all can be had with a black roof), and crucially, will cost less than the Nissan Magnite, its twin, which is priced from Rs. 5.49 lakhs (ex-showroom) when launched, which is expected to take place by March since the Renault Kiger bookings have already commenced.
