The Renault Koleos is the next vehicle which will be launched by the French automaker in India. The company has just given it a facelift, after only 3-years and we will be getting the new version. The 2012 Renault Koleos features a redesigned exterior and interior. Looking like a strangled cousin of the Hyundai Tucson, the Koleos does show its Samsung genes in its styling (thanks to the Renault-Nissan-Samsung collaboration in Korea). The Renault Koleos, being based on the X-Trail platform will utilize powertrains from it, including the use of the M9R all aluminum diesel motor. The 2.0 liter common rail engine features variable valve timing and produces 150bhp of power at 4000 RPM and 320 Nm at 2000 RPM.

Just like the Fluence, the Koleos has terrific ride quality. However the handling is just about average with lots of body roll. An Nissan developed all-wheel drive system will feature on the Indian Koleos. Currently the crossover is sold in 40 countries across 5 continents and is produced by Renault-Samsung Motors at their plant in Busan, South Korea. Expect a Rs. 18 lakh price tag for the 2012 Renault Koleos when it goes on sale this October.
