After start of its fleet sales in the month of May, the Renault Lodgy has received a huge price cut, of close to Rs. 1 lakh, to keep up the sales boost it received after start of fleet sales.

2015 Renault Lodgy Test Drive
The Renault Lodgy was launched in India in the month of April 2015

Renault has been unable to shift units of its MPV, the Lodgy. The company, thus decided to start fleet sales of the Lodgy as an effort to boost its sale figures. The move seems to have worked, as Renault has managed to boost the sale figures for the MPV. The Lodgy sold close to 730 units in the last month, which a huge bump up from the 400-unit average that was seen before.

Renault however, have gone forward and slashed the prices for its 85 PS model by close to Rs. 1 lakh. The standard base version (8-seater) is available now for a price of Rs. 7.59 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). Which amounts to a reduction of Rs. 96,000/- as compared to the older rates. The move seems to be made to keep up the sales momentum of the Renault Lodgy, as the price cut for the base variant will attract a lot more fleet purchases due to its 8-seater offering.

The Renault Lodgy is currently available with two engine options. Both of them being 1.5-litre units, in a different state of tune. The lower one makes 85 PS of power and 200 Nm of peak torque, while the other makes 110 PS of power and 245 Nm of torque. The 85 PS motor is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox, while the 110 PS units comes with a 6-speed manual gearbox.
