2013 Rolls Royce Wraith front

Rolls-Royce will launch the Wraith in India on the 19th of August, 2013. The launch will take place in Delhi and the British automaker will have a Mumbai launch on the 23rd of August. The Wraith is the most powerful and dynamic Rolls-Royce model ever built by the company with power coming from a 6.6-litre V12 engine. This twin-turbo motor belts out an impressive 624 HP of peak power and 800 Nm of peak torque. Coupled to an 8-speed ZF gearbox, the Rolls-Royce Wraith sprints from 0 to 100 km/hr in just 4.6 seconds, in spite of its hefty 2360 kgs weight.

This 2-door luxury sports coupe lives up to Rolls-Royce levels of luxury and opulence. Other than the exclusivity of the interiors, the Wraith also gets ‘Starlight Headliner’ which is a roof with 1340 fibre optic lamps to give a starry night feel in the cabin. You get the usual zillion features which make a Rolls-Royce so special. The company has also specially tuned the suspension to offer excellent dynamics, something which is not really of paramount importance for this brand as the focus is on comfort usually.

The Wraith is based on the Ghost and is a new direction for Rolls-Royce which is known to develop super luxury barges with passenger pampering of high importance. The vehicle should compete with the Bentley Continental GT. Prices are expected to be around Rs. 3.8 crores (ex-showroom, Delhi). Although a coupe, the Rolls-Royce Wraith is a 4-seater but we are not quite sure about the headroom at the rear. BMW owns Rolls-Royce and the launch of the Wraith is on the same day as the launch of the Audi Q3 Sport, a bizarre coincident.
