The bike that took rounds of the internet under the guise of the upcoming UM DSR ADV, has turned out to be a small 125cc tourer from Polish bike-maker Romet.

The Romet ADV 125 is a bike that currently has no competition in the Indian market. The buyers for a beginner adventure bike are numbered. The RE Himalayan is a favourite with buyers and competition will get tough once the Hero XPulse arrives. That being said, there is no announcement and subsequently no guarantee of the bike’s launch in India.

The bike that is spotted in India is seen with a single-cylinder, two-valve engine that is paired to a 5-speed gearbox. This engine makes 10.5 BHP of peak power at 7900 RPM and 9.2 Nm of peak torque at 6500 RPM. This road-biased tourer gets 17-inch alloys that are wrapped in 120-section tires in the rear and 100-section tires in the front. Both the tires are tubeless.  There is the possibility of a more off-road inclined variant with spoked wheels being launched as well.

The bike relies on dual disc brakes for stopping with CBS as standard. The discs measure in at 265 mm at the front and 240 mm at the rear. Being a beginner bike, Romet has made it user-friendly and easy to use by giving panniers, saddle bags and a top-box as an option. The bike costs PLN 9999 (Rs. 1.86 lakhs, approximately) and is expected to be priced aggressively as and when it is launched in India.

Romet is a Polish brand that is known for making small-capacity 2-wheelers that typically have a 50-125cc engine for the European markets. The company is known for their wide range of products that covers scooters, motorcycles and even bicycles.
