It is sad to see the Ford EcoSport go

The leading compact SUV with sales of 9211 units in September 2021 is the Tata Nexon, which kept its competition at bay by a comfortable margin.

Second-placed Hyundai Venue registered sales of 7924 units, followed by the Kia Sonet with 4454 unit sales.

Fourth and fifth positions in the September 2021 compact SUV sales chart are occupied by Mahindra products the XUV300 and the Thar, respectively.

While the smallest XUV found near enough 3700 new homes, the compact off-roader was delivered to 3134 customers, whom I’m sure could not wait any more to take their toy home.

Looks like the Mahindra Thar and XUV700 will duke it out to see who has the highest waiting period

Nissan’s Magnite (2330 units) and Renault Kiger (2312 units) have once again found a decent number of takers, and are slowly luring customers from other segments due to their pricing.

The usual segment leader, the Maruti Vitara Brezza’s production was heavily affected and thus, only 1874 units were delivered to customers in September.

The Toyota Urban Cruiser (816 units) and Honda WR-V (687 units) completed the list as the Ford EcoSport is now out of the picture.

Leaving the EcoSport aside, the compact SUVs in the list registered collective sales of 36,435 units, which is a 3 percent year-on-year (YoY) sales degrowth.
