Simple Energy has been able to competitively price its One EV

Simple Energy has launched the One electric scooter with a price tag of Rs. 1,09,999/- (ex-showroom), in India, today.

Bookings for the first product from the Bengaluru-based electric vehicle (EV) maker have commenced and the token amount has been set at Rs. 1947/-

The stylish scooter comes with a 4.8 kWh battery pack which consists of a fixed module and a 6 kg removable module.

Sporting a 7 kW (9.34 HP) electric motor that puts out 72 Nm (transferred via a chain drive), the EV can hit a top speed of 105 km/hr. Its 0-50 km/hr sprint time is 3.6 seconds.

Weighing 110 kg, the Simple One has a claimed range of 203 km in Eco mode (up to 50 km/hr), while the IDC range is 236 km.

Further, customers who pay the Simple Energy One price also get to experience the pre-defined riding modes such as ‘Eco’, ‘Ride’, ‘Dash’ and ‘Sonic’ which alter the riding experience.

Offered in 4 colour options – Azure Blue, Brazen Black, Grace White and Namma Red – the scooter also features a 7-inch touchscreen instrument cluster that supports smartphone connectivity and navigation.

Then there is the Simple One app which lets owners lock the scooter, locate it, book service appointments, access ride statistics, among other things.

According to the company, it takes 75 minutes to charge the portable battery and 165 minutes to charge the fixed battery pack through normal charging. Using the company’s fast charger, one can add 2.5 km range per minute.

Named Simple Loop, the fast charging network will comprise over 300 stations in the next 7 months across 13 States. The scooter will be sold in the 75 cities within the 13 States. By August 2022, the company aims to retail the EV in 176 cities in India.

Featuring a 30-litre under-seat storage, the scooter rides on 12-inch wheels and comes with a 200 mm disc brake at the front and a 190 mm disc at the rear with CBS.
