Skoda Auto India Director officially confirms Karoq launch in April 2020.

Zac Hollis, Director – Sales, Service and Marketing Skoda Auto India has confirmed the launch of Skoda Karoq for April 2020. A Twitter user asked Zac Hollis about the launch of Skoda Karoq in India to which he replied that it will be launched in April and it will get a petrol engine initially.

The Skoda Karoq is a mid-size SUV that will be positioned between the soon to be launched Kamiq and the range topping Kodiaq SUV. The Karoq was globally revealed in 2017 and is expected to be showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo.

The Czech carmaker will be introducing the Karoq in India initially via the CBU route. It will get a petrol engine at the time of the launch which could be a 1.0-litre TSI unit or a 1.5-litre TSI engine with BS6 compliance.

The Skoda Karoq is based on the new MQB platform. It replaces the Skoda Yeti and comes with the latest design language. The Karoq looks heavily inspired by its elder sibling Kodiaq.

It will compete with the likes of MG Hector, Tata Harrier, Jeep Compass, Hyundai Tucson and the likes.
