The Skoda Kodiaq BS6, which is due for launch in India for over a year, has recently been spotted on test in Pune.

These images were taken by MotorBeamer Rafik Sayyad and the test mule, which has emissions testing apparatus, does not seem to have any design changes.

Granted, we can only see the rear profile of the Skoda Kodiaq BS6 spotted car in these images, but since the brand has already started working on its facelift overseas, the SUV is unlikely to be any different to the BS4 model.

No changes are expected on the inside or on the variant front either. However, the infotainment system might be upgraded and the carmaker might also throw in some new features.

Skoda has completely ditched diesel units now and thus, the Kodiaq BS6 will come powered by a sole 2.0-litre TSI petrol motor that is good for 190 PS and 320 Nm and it will come mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox.

There is no doubt that the motor is potent and will last long, but it will not offer the same fuel economy as a diesel unit, something SUVs like the Kodiaq would be better off with.

When it gets launched, the Skoda Kodiaq BS6 will likely be priced from around Rs. 35 lakhs (ex-showroom) and compete against the Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace, the MG Gloster, Toyota Fortuner (the latter 2 in terms of price), among other premium SUVs.

The bold Skoda lettering instead of the badge works better in my opinion
