With production of Slavia having commenced, the sedan should reach Skoda dealerships in time

Skoda has announced that it has commenced mass production of the Slavia C-segment sedan at its factory in Chakan, Pune.

The second model from the Czech brand to be produced under its India 2.0 project is built on the MQB-A0-IN platform and will come in 3 variants – Active, Ambition and Style.

Featuring a modern design with typical Skoda styling elements, the Slavia has LED headlights and tail lamps, dual-tone alloys and chrome exterior embellishments. It will be available in 5 colourways, including a new shade called Crystal Blue.

Due to the sedan having a wide body and long wheelbase (with respect to its class), the cabin is roomier and the boot capacious at 521 litres. It is packed with features too.

Some of the goodies the car will come with include an 8-inch driver’s display, 10-inch touchscreen with SmartLink technology, touch-control Climatronic (Ambition trim and up), leather ventilated front seats (Style variant), MySkoda Connect mobile online services (Style), and more.

There will be 2 TSI petrol engine options – 115 PS, 1.0-litre 3-cylinder and 150 PS, 1.5-litre 4-cylinder with cylinder deactivation technology – for the car along with 3 gearbox options – 6-speed manual, 6-speed automatic and 7-speed DSG.

With the Skoda Slavia production having commenced this month, customer deliveries should start soon after its market launch that is scheduled for March 2022.
