Suzuki eVX all-electric SUV to launch in production guise in India by 2025

Suzuki has revealed the updated eVX concept at the Japan Mobility Show. The new concept comes with slightly revised styling and now showcases the interior of the all-electric SUV.

The concept looks futuristic yet rugged with large headlights up front, LED DRLs on the grille, muscular bumper with cladding and skid plate. The side profile reveals swanky alloy wheels, cladded wheel arches and doors. The eVX gets connected tail lamps, sharp roof mounted spoiler and rugged bumper detailing. It is 4300 mm long, 1800 mm wide and 1600 mm tall. Tyre size of the concept is 245/45 R20.

Now the biggest talking point this time around is the interior of the concept. Like all the concepts it has a sci-fi looking floating dashboard with a square-shaped two-spoke steering wheel.

The infotainment system and digital cluster display looks combined and has a translucent effect, which is unlikely to make it to the production version. The AC vent design looks cool and unique in vertical layout. There is a clean centre console with a rotary dial in the centre. The gear selection buttons look touch sensitive.

The seats have a unique design and the cabin looks spacious and airy, which is further accentuated with the panoramic sunroof. Of course most of these design details won’t make it to the production model but expect the overall interior theme to be inspired by this concept.

The powertrain specifications have not been revealed yet. However, the Japanese carmaker announced that the concept gets a 60 kWh battery with a claimed range of 550 km on full charge. Maruti Suzuki is expected to introduce two variants of this EV, the lower variant will get a smaller battery of 48 kWh having a range of around 400 km on full charge.

This will be the first all-electric Maruti Suzuki vehicle and you can expect the carmaker to launch the production version in India by 2025. There will be a Toyota version too for this EV and both the products will compete with the all-electric Hyundai Creta that is expected to make its debut in 2024.
