Suzuki GSX-8R Launched, Now Complies With OBD2B Emission Norms

Suzuki has launched the GSX-8R in India. Notably, the bike complies with the strict OBD2B emission norms. The Japanese brand has priced the bike at Rs. 9.25 Lakh (ex-showroom).

Engine

A 776cc liquid-cooled twin-cylinder engine with a 270-degree crankshaft powers the GSX-8R. The engine produces 81.8 HP at 8500 RPM and 78 NM of torque at 6800 RPM. A 6-speed gearbox with an assist and slipper clutch pairs with the engine.

Styling

The GSX-8R features vertically stacked LED headlights and a mild upward sweeping tail section. The cuts and creases also have the unmistakable presence, making it an aggressive supersport. Suzuki offers the GSX-8R in three colours: Metallic Triton Blue, Metallic Matte Sword Silver, and Metallic Black No.2.

Suspension & Braking

A Showa SFF-BP upside-down fork in the front and a Showa link-type monoshock setup in the rear with preload adjustability comprise the suspension setup of the GSX-8R. 310mm dual brake discs with four-piston callipers up front and 240mm disc in the rear equip the 17-inch cast aluminium rims. They are wrapped in Dunlop RoadSport 2 radial tyres.

Features

The GSX-8R is equipped with Suzuki Intelligent Ride System (SIRS). Features include traction control, ride-by-wire electronic throttle, bidirectional quickshifter, easy start system, and low RPM assist.
