Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Ltd. has completed two decades of manufacturing in the country, marking a key milestone since it began operations in 2006. Over the years, the company has expanded its presence across multiple two-wheeler segments while steadily increasing production and sales volumes.

Suzuki’s journey in India began with models such as the Heat 125 and Zeus 125, before strengthening its position in the scooter segment with the Suzuki Access 125. The brand has since broadened its portfolio to include products like the Suzuki Burgman Street, Suzuki Avenis and the Gixxer range, along with premium motorcycles such as the Suzuki Hayabusa and V-Strom series.

In terms of scale, the company reached its first one million customers in 2012 and crossed five million cumulative units by 2020. As of 2026, Suzuki Motorcycle India has surpassed the 10 million production mark, with the company also reporting a doubling of sales over the past four years.

The Gurugram manufacturing facility has played a central role in Suzuki’s growth, not only catering to domestic demand but also supporting exports. Two-wheelers manufactured in India are now shipped to over 70 countries, underlining the country’s role in Suzuki’s global operations.

Looking ahead, Suzuki Motorcycle India has outlined plans to expand its product and manufacturing footprint. The company is preparing to enter the electric mobility space with the e-Access, while also exploring alternative fuel technologies such as flex-fuel with models like the Gixxer SF 250 FFV.

Additionally, Suzuki has announced plans for a second manufacturing plant at Kharkhoda, which is expected to support future growth and capacity expansion.

Speaking on the occasion, Managing Director Kenichi Umeda highlighted that the milestone reflects sustained customer demand and support from partners and suppliers. The company maintains that it will continue focusing on product development, after-sales service and adapting to evolving mobility requirements in India.
