The Altroz hatchback was spotted without any camouflage in production-ready form

There has been a lot of news around Tata’s hatchback, the Altroz. The Altroz was first showcased at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show and electric version of the same was put on display as well. The EV’s launch is still some time away while the petrol/diesel Altroz will be launched in the near future. The vehicle has now been spotted in its production guise at the Tata Motors plant.

Coming to the Altroz, the hatchback is based on Tata’s ALFA platform which is a highly modular platform allowing transformation and adaptation for different vehicle underpinnings. The Altroz takes its form based on the 45X concept, which the company had showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo. It will also be the first vehicle of the company to be produced on the ALFA platform, making it lightweight and agile.

The Tata Altroz is likely to be offered with 3 engine options including both the engines from the Nexon. Tata might offer the engines in a different state of tune to meet the power delivery requirements of the hatchback. The Altroz might also get an AT.

At the 2019 Geneva Motor Show, the Altroz on display was loaded with features like ambient lighting, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system and body colour accents on the AC vents. It is also expected to have all the safety tech along with the features available in vehicles of this segment. The Tata Altroz is expected to be priced within the Rs. 10 lakh bracket and will rival the likes of the Maruti Baleno, Hyundai Elite i20 and Honda Jazz.
