Tata Altroz is underpinned by the new ALFA architecture

Tata Altroz has been spotted undisguised on the streets of Mumbai. The car is seen to be shooting for a TVC ahead of its launch. The premium hatchback from Tata made its world premiere at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show in March. Altroz is based on the Tata 45X concept that was showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo and is underpinned by the company’s ALFA architecture.

The Altroz premium hatchback will follow the company’s Impact 2.0 design scheme and will be available with three engine options. The car comes with sharp headlamps that merge with the grille to give an intimidating front fascia. The fog lamps also play an important role to enhance the looks of the car and complement the overall design.

The rear of the Altroz sports an all-black boot lid with LED tail lamps that lend a unique look. There are some bits that resemble the Tata Harrier design language and that overall provides a strong character to the rear profile of the vehicle.

Tata Altroz will be offered with three engine options including one diesel and two petrol engines. The car is expected to make its debut with a 1.5-litre oil burner that will produce 90 BHP. The 1.2-litre petrol engine from the Tiago is expected to produce 84 BHP and 112 Nm of torque and the 1.2-litre turbo-petrol from Tata Nexon will be detuned to produce 102 BHP and 140 Nm of torque. The Altroz will go head up against the likes of Maruti Baleno, Honda Jazz, Hyundai Elite i20 and the upcoming Toyota Glanza.
