Tata Motors have started accepting bookings officially for the Hexa crossover with a booking amount of Rs. 11,000/-.

Tata dealerships across the country have started accepting bookings for the upcoming Hexa crossover. Customers can reserve a unit of the Hexa by paying just Rs. 11,000/-, although they will have to keep in mind that the official launch takes place on 16th January 2017, so the deliveries won’t start before that.

The Hexa is being offered with the same 2.2-litre diesel engine seen in the Safari Storme. It comes in two states of tune, with the base model, Varicor 320, getting a power and torque output of 150 HP and 320 Nm respectively and the more expensive Varicor 400 variants packing 156 HP and 400 Nm of torque under the hood.

The Varicor 320 only comes with the 5-speed manual gearbox but the Varicor 400 buyers can opt between a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic transmission. Tata Motors is only offering the AWD setup with the range-topping XT trim that comes in tandem with the Varicor 400 model.

Moving on, there are all-round disc brakes, double wishbone suspension at the front and 5-link coil springs on the rear and safety features like six airbags, EBD, ABS, ESC, TCS, Hill Hold Control, Hill Descent Control. The Hexa goes up against the Mahindra XUV500 and indirectly with the Toyota Innova Crysta although the latter is a premium vehicle.
