Tata Zest AMT Test Drive Review

The launch date for the Zest is just around the corner, as Tata Motors has commenced bookings for the all-new compact sedan online at an amount of Rs. 21,000/-. However, details on the variant line-up and final price will be available at the time of launch itself, and prospective customers can make the booking amount payment via credit or debit cards and get the option of selecting petrol or diesel versions of the vehicle. Deliveries are expected to commence by the end of next month across major cities of the country.

Customers need to select the city and state in which they live and the system will show you the dealerships available in your vicinity. Based on your selection, the booking amount is transferred to the dealership of your choice, wherein you need to go post launch and choose the preferred variant, and complete the final payment and other registration formalities. Tata Motors is trying real hard to make the buying process of their cars as transparent as possible, it is also working extensively on improving its service.

The Tata Zest is powered by the home-grown 1.2-litre Revotron turbocharged petrol engine producing 90 PS and 140 Nm of torque, paired to a 5-speed manual transmission and comes with three driving modes. The diesel variant is powered by the 1.3-litre QuadraJet unit producing 90 PS and 200 Nm of torque, paired to a 5-speed manual and an AMT gearbox. The compact sedan has been confirmed for launch next month and will be competing against the Maruti DZire, Honda Amaze and Hyundai Xcent in the segment.
