No changes were recorded in the top 6 positions

November 2020 car sales was led by the Swift, with Maruti Suzuki retailing just under 18,500 units of the hatchback.

In second place came the Maruti Baleno which was not far off, having sold 17,872 times over in November. The top 2 models saw a slight year-over-year (YoY) degrowth as well.

Next up comes the Wagon R, Alto and Dzire, selling 16,256 units, 15,321 units and 13,536 units respectively, while the Hyundai Creta came sixth with 12,017 unit sales to its name.

Sonet was the leading model for Kia in the November 2020 car sales list. It fetched 11,417 units, and beat its cousin from Hyundai, the Venue (11th spot), by a decent margin.

The Maruti Eeco (11,183 units), Hyundai duo of Grand i10 and NIOS (10,936) and the Maruti Ertiga (9557) completed the top 10. Hyundai’s latest-gen i20 did well in the first month, selling close to 9100 units.

From the bottom 15 models, some managed to garner very good sales growth YoY. For example, the Tata Nexon sold 6021 units with 75 percent growth. But, it was beaten by the Altroz (6260 units) as the highest-selling Tata product.

Similarly, the Mahindra XUV300 (4458 units) saw a 100 percent growth rate, while the Maruti Ignis (3935 units) did even better, registering a YoY growth number of 133 percent.

However, 10 cars in the list posted degrowth, with the Maruti S-Presso (-37 percent), Vitara Brezza (-35 percent) and Kia Seltos (-34 percent) losing a chunk of their previous year’s sales.

Also, when we compare the numbers with October 2020, many models in the list, including the top 6, saw their numbers dip by a bit.
