The Ciaz has once again posted a negative growth figure

Up next is the March 2021 C-segment sedan sales list which saw a bit of a shakeup due to the Honda City falling to fifth place from being the segment leader.

The global semiconductor shortage is said to have affected the popular sedan’s production, which has led to a reduction in dispatches and consequently sales (815 units).

Honda’s loss is Hyundai’s gain, as the Verna (2778 units) now occupies the top position of the C-segment sedan list, followed by the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz (1628 units).

Skoda’s Rapid came third with 903 unit sales, while Toyota retailed 871 units of its Yaris. Occupying the last position is the Volkswagen Vento with just 137 unit sales.

Hyundai’s Elantra once again beat its only competitor, the Skoda Octavia in the D-segment sedan sales. However, with the arrival of the new generation Octavia, the tide might turn against the South Korean model.
