MUV Sales July 2020
Even though individual sales have fallen, the cumulative numbers are similar due to newer models

July 2020 UV sales shows that the demand for such vehicles has not diminished as the cumulative sales in this segment went down by a mere one percent when compared to July 2019.

It is a Maruti which leads sales in the MUV segment and also occupying the second position in the list. The vehicles in question are the Ertiga and Eeco and the difference between them is just three units.

Yup, the Ertiga saw 8504 units get sold, while the Eeco saw 8501 units reach customers. However, both cars witnessed a year-on-year sales slump in July. The numbers however, were much better than last month.

In third place is Mr. Consistent, Mahindra Bolero, as the sales of the UV reduced by a mere 2 percent and it is followed by the Triber that sold a respectable 3076 units in July 2020.

Toyota’s Innova did not fare well though. The popular car saw a massive 40 percent negative growth Y-o-Y with only 2927 units getting retailed in July, but then again, the number is better than the previous month this year.

The Maruti XL6 and Kia Carnival come next in the July 2020 UV sales list, selling 1874 and 232 units respectively, while the Datsun GO+ that follows saw sales go down 70 percent Y-o-Y.

But it is not as bad as the Mahindra Marazzo, as the car’s sales plummeted by a whopping 98 percent, to only 20 units. Mind you, in June, the car did not sell any units, but that was due to Mahindra not dispatching the BS6 versions of the UV.

Overall sales, as mentioned above, are strong, with 29,567 units getting retailed, only 1 percent less than what was achieved by the manufacturers cumulatively in July 2019.
