Changes to the Etios sedan and Etios Liva hatchback include new and updated front grille, while the cabin gets new features and premium fabric upholstery as part of standard kit.

Toyota India has officially launched the facelift of the Etios Liva hatchback and Etios sedan in the country with prices starting at Rs. 4.76 lakhs and Rs. 5.76 lakhs respectively. With no changes to the mechanicals or powertrain, the Etios twins get a refreshed front fascia along with new features added to the cabin. The cars have already reached dealerships across the country with deliveries set to commence immediately.

Starting with the list of changes, the Toyota Etios and Etios Liva get revised front grille and is the only change on the outside. On the inside though, the changes are very extensive and include driver and passenger side airbags that are standard across all variants. The mid-level variants get new fabric upholstery, driver seat receiving height adjustability, new LCD display unit with digital clock, two new speakers at the rear and a buzzer warning for driver’s seatbelt, doors and headlamps. The top-end trims are equipped with electrically adjustable mirrors, reverse parking sensors along with new finish for the centre armrest, 2-DIN audio system with Bluetooth, AUX connectivity, cooled-glovebox and new alloy wheels. In addition, the Etios sedan gets faux-wood finish for the armrest, new pearl white colour scheme and a full chrome grille (body coloured unit on Etios Liva).

Engine options remain the same on the Etios sedan and include the 1.5-litre petrol unit producing 90 PS of power, while the Etios Liva is powered by a 1.2-litre petrol motor producing 84 PS of power. Diesel duty is performed by the 1.4-litre diesel producing 68 PS of power on both the models. One of the more frugal vehicles in their respective segments, the Etios sedan petrol claims an ARAI certified fuel efficiency of 16.78 km/l, while the Etios Liva petrol returns 17.71 km/l. The diesel variants on both the vehicles return 23.59 km/l.

Toyota has also tweaked the badging on the Etios and Etios Liva facelift. The base variant does not get any badging, while the V, VD trims have been discontinued. Instead, the mid-level G, GD with special pack are now badged as V, VD. The top-end trim are now badged as VX, VXD. In terms of competition, the Etios Liva rivals the Maruti Swift, Hyundai i20, Volkswagen Polo and the likes, while the Etios competes against the Renault Scala, Nissan Sunny, Chevrolet Sail, Ford Classic and Fiat Linea Classic in the segment.
