2013 Toyota GT 86

Toyota is all geared up for the 2014 Auto Expo and they are ready to showcase a total of 17 vehicles at the exhibition including the Etios Cross and all new Corolla. The theme of the Japanese automaker at the biennial show will be ‘The New Wave Of Mobility’. Their exhibit will be divided into three zones – Fun, QDR (Quality, Durability and Reliability) and Technology. So, the Fun zone will include the Etios Liva TRD Sportivo, which is powered by a 1.5-litre petrol motor. Then there is the track focused Etios Motor Racing car along with the stunning Toyota GT 86.

The Toyota GT86 is known as the most appreciated and fun to drive car in today’s day and age. It is jointly developed by Toyota and Subaru and features a boxer engine. The GT86 is a rear-wheel drive, front engine sports car. Powering the Toyota GT86 is a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol unit that churns out 200 HP of power with 205 Nm of torque. The next zone is QDR, where Toyota will exhibit the Etios, Innova, Fortuner, Land Cruiser Prado, Land Cruiser 200 and Hiace.

The Toyota Hiace is a full-size MPV with a huge cabin space that can accommodate 10 passengers with good comfort. The Hiace comes with both diesel and petrol engine options internationally. It is currently not available in India but Toyota should consider launching the MPV for fleet operators. Then there is the Technology zone that will showcase Toyota’s hybrid models – Prius and Camry. There will be a cut body Prius to show the working of the hybrid system, similar to what was showcased at the last Auto Expo.
