Toyota has received the coveted prize of the being the world’s greenest brand. The survey was conducted by international brand consultancy Interbrand. Few parameters considered by the company included environmental performance and public perception of the brand’s environmental sustainability. The data was collected from France, Germany, UK, Italy, USA, Japan, Brazil and India. Toyota emerged with a score of 64.19 points, ahead of 3M in second place.

Toyota’s market-leading development of full hybrid technology is a key contributor to Toyota’s strong green performance. The Prius is the market leader in environment vehicles and since 1997, Toyota and Lexus have amassed more than 3.2 million hybrid vehicle sales worldwide. In Europe, Toyota has recently installed a solar wall at its factory in Valenciennes, France, and it plans to install wind turbines at its vehicle logistics centre in Zeebrugge, Belgium.
