Triumph has launched the 2019 Speed Twin In India. The Speed Twin is the latest addition to the to Triumph’s modern classic range of motorcycles. It gets the same engine as the Triumph Thruxton. The 2019 Triumph Speed Twin is priced at Rs. 9.46 lakhs (ex-showroom, pan India) and is available for booking across all Triumph dealers in India.

The Triumph Speed Twin is designed with the idea of relaxed riding with outright performance. Triumph calls the Speed Twin a modern custom roadster. It gets classic retro-styled panels and a chiselled fuel tank, which seem to have drawn inspiration for the Triumph Speed Twin of the yesteryears.

Coming to the powerplant, the Triumph Speed Twin uses the same 1200cc parallel-twin engine shared with the Thruxton and Bonneville T120. However, the engine gets a few modifications aboard the Speed Twin. It makes 96 BHP at 6750 RPM and 112 Nm of torque at 4950 RPM. The engine comes paired with a 6-speed gearbox. It also features a low inertia crank and a high compression head. The cam cover is made from magnesium and revisions have been done to the clutch assembly too.

Features on the Triumph Speed Twin includes ride-by-wire, torque-assisted clutch and three different riding modes – Road, Sport and Rain. The motorcycle also gets switchable traction control and ABS. There are LED daytime running lamps along with LED rear tail lamp and LED indicators. Triumph has given the motorcycle a USB charging outlet as well along with a twin-pod instrument cluster which also gets a small digital screen for readouts.
